Adult Chamber Music-These 90-minute workshops take place once a week
during September and October and culminate in a recital in the Staller Center
Recital Hall. Ensembles for strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, and voice are
formed based on participants' similar ability and the best possible instrumentation.
Adult musicians of all levels and experience, as well as pre-existing groups,
are invited to participate.

Baroque
Music-Early music performed on original instruments, featuring nationally

The Charles B. Wang
Center, celebrating Asian and American cultures, is designed
as a vital space for multidisciplinary and multicultural dialogues. The
120,000-square-foot building was officially presented to Stony Brook
University by Charles B. Wang on October 22, 2002. The Wang Center is
used for conferences, art exhibits, film festivals, lectures, seminars,
and performances. It is open to all Stony Brook students, faculty, and
staff as well as the surrounding community.
It includes exhibit spaces, an inter-denominational chapel, an Asian food court,
a theater, two lecture halls, a series of interior and exterior pools and terraces,
and more than 35,000 square feet of sprawling gardens.

Pre-College
Music Program-A curriculum in music theory, aural skills (ear training
and sight singing), music analysis, and traditional and computer-based instruction
in music composition for students grades 7 to 12. Weekly faculty coaching
of small ensembles, including all instruments and voice. Public recitals held
at the Staller Center for the Arts give students an invaluable opportunity
to perform. The program is held every Saturday, September to June.

Student Lounge)-The Spot is a comfortable pub offering a specialty grill,
fine wines and beers, and great entertainment, featuring some of the best

is always an event taking place at Long Island's only arts facility that offers
an eclectic mix of live performances and film, including a musical theatre

Stony
Brook Summer Music Festival-A two-week intensive music program for talented
musicians ages 13 to 23, focusing on chamber music. Students receive intensive
daily coaching, meet with prominent speakers and performers, and participate
in master classes, recording sessions, outdoor concerts, and theory/composition
classes. Lodging and dining are provided; local students may commute. The
program includes a trip to New York City to attend the Mostly Mozart Festival
concert at Lincoln Center, a boat excursion, and beach afternoons. The program
ends with a gala concert performance in the Staller Center Recital Hall.
