PRESIDENT'S REPORT TO THE
CAMPUS COMMUNITY
Stony Brook’s Five Year Plan for 2000-2005 synthesizes the priorities and concerns of the campus community into specific projects that represent progress toward University goals. This report describes how the projects scheduled for 2000-2001 were accomplished, continuing the annual progress reports that tracked implementation of the Five Year Plan for 1995-2000.
The Five Year Plan sets goals for providing a campus environment in which Stony Brook’s excellent faculty, staff and students will flourish, and for developing new initiatives that build on current strengths. The goals focus on eight areas: undergraduate students; graduate students and postdoctoral associates; faculty; infrastructure, staff and administration; campus life; campus facilities; technology transfer, outreach and fundraising; and facilities maintenance. The accomplishments described in this report are first steps toward these goals, with further actions scheduled for each subsequent year of the Plan.
The Five Year Plan and each year’s Accomplishment Report are available online and from the President’s Office. For more information, contact Emily Thomas, Director of Planning and Institutional Research, at 632-7272.
