Mar. 10, 2011: First Faculty Advisory Council Meeting Held

The Faculty Advisory Council for Project 50 Forward held its first meeting on March 10, 2011.  The Bain consulting team and members of the Operational Excellence Program Management Office reviewed the context, scope, approach and timeline for Operational Excellence, shared a sample of the opportunities to gain efficiency and cost savings identified in the first (diagnostic) phase of the review, which was completed in December 2010, and described the process and organization for the future phases (design and implementation) of the review.

President Stanley created the Faculty Advisory Council in February 2011 to: provide critical input to the Operational Excellence Steering Committee, advise on ways to reach out to Stony Brook faculty and ensure that recommendations from the Operational Excellence component of Project 50 Forward support the needs of the academic and research community.

Stony Brook is relying on input from all sectors of the campus community to achieve the goals of Operational Excellence. If you have suggestions to make Stony Brook more effective and efficient, please contact the Project 50 Forward team.
