Instructions for Creating a Portal Website Username
The RF portal Website has a self-service online form for users to request an account. The user is responsible for preparing and submitting the Website account request online via the following steps:
- In an Internet browser, load the RF website: www.rfsuny.org
- In the RF Login region of the public home page, click the New User link.
- Complete the RF SUNY Portal Registration form, entering the following required information:
First Name
Last Name
E-mail address, campus email preferred
Telephone Number, campus number preferred
Last 4 digits of Social Security Number (optional but recommended
for rapid processing; if not entered, the request will automatically
default to the manual authorization process)
Campus name (from drop down list of values)
Type of Access, this should be Principal Investigators and Staff
Desired password (8 characters – 7 must be alphabetic, 1 must
be numeric)
- Click the Submit button at the bottom of the form.
If the information is accepted you will return to a site “Research Foundation Web site Registration.” At this point you need to log in to the RF Web site www.rfsuny.org using your portal user name and password and will have access to the PI Portal and PIAI. NOTE: The user name and password you currently use to access the PIAI are separate from your new portal user name and password and will not change after the portal rolls out.
