Stony Brook University Human Subjects Training Options

As required by SBU's Federalwide Assurance:

All individuals who are involved in human subjects research, and who will work either directly with the subject, or with data or biological specimens derived from subjects or patients, are required to successfully complete one of 2 training programs offered by the University.

If all such individuals are not trained, IRB approval for pending projects will be withheld until such time as all individuals are identified, and training verified, by the Office of Research Compliance.

The two training options are:

1) CITI Web-Based Course for the Protection of Human Research Subjects (Section 17 of the Handbook for Investigators ) Updated 5/04 or

2) On-Campus Human Subjects Training Sessions (schedule) (course outline html or pdf)
