Getting course packs produced through the University Bookstore's partnership with Campus Custom Publishing is easy, but a few key items are needed in order to make the process as smooth as possible.
You can create course packs online with XANEDU. XANEDU will deliver the course packs to the Bookstore. Please visit www.xanedu.com for more information. Also when making course packs, please keep these key points in mind:
- Originals. In order to produce copies of the highest quality, originals in good condition are needed. Originals may include, original typed works, newspaper or journal articles.
- Bibliography. In order to secure copyright clearance, instructors will have to provide the bookstore with a bibliography of the works included in the course pack. Items that do not require copyright clearance should be listed as well, so that the course pack is printed in the proper order.
- Course Pack Request Form. A course pack request form must be filled out, so that adequate quantities are ordered. Course packs can be reprinted in subsequent semesters and only need a course pack request form. You can request a form from the Textbook Manager at 631.632.6614.
- Time Frame. Course packs usually take 6-8 weeks to produce, this includes proofing, copyright clearance and production.
Once you have secured all the above requirements, you can either mail your request to the Bookstore at:
Frank Melville Library
Stony Brook, NY 11794-3395
You can also fax it to the bookstore at (631) 632-6527.
To follow up on your order you can email the Bookstore's Textbook Manager Kristin Dischley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
