Letter of Reaccreditation with Statement of Accreditation Status(Adobe .pdf format)

Evaluation Team Report
The Evaluation Team Report represents the views of the evaluation team as interpreted by the Chair; it goes directly to the institution before being considered by the Commission. It is a confidential document prepared as an education service for the benefit of the institution. All comments in the report are made in good faith, in an effort to assist Stony Brook University. This report is based solely on an educational evaluation of the institution and of the manner in which it appears to be carrying out its educational objectives.

Self-Study
The Stony Brook University Middle States Self-Study Report will encompass all standards set by the Middle States Association, Commission on Higher Education, relating to the focused topic self-study, The Student Experience, and is the culmination of two years work by the Middle States Steering and Subcommittees.

Design for Self-Study (Adobe .pdf format)
Sets out the guidelines for Stony Brook University's final self-study, which will be completed in the fall of 2003. The Design includes the nature and scope of the self-study, as well as the steering committee's specific goals and objectives. The Design also includes the timeline for the reaccreditation process.

Preliminary Proposal (Adobe .pdf format)
A list of documentation to satisfy the standards set forth by the Middle States Association, Commission on Higher Education, not being explored under the focused self study topic of The Student Experience. Please note that many of these documents are available on the database for further evaluation.

Steering Committee Surveys
In addition to utilizing national and past university data, the steering committee conducted several surveys of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and alumni for the express purpose of this reaccreditation process. The following, in Adobe .pdf format, are the survey questions posed to each of these groups:

Document Roadmap (Adobe .pdf format)
Listing of all documentation pertinent to the standards set forth by the Middle States Association, Commission on Higher Education, which are not being addressed in the focused topic self-study, The Student Experience. It is advised to use the Roadmap in conjunction with the Middle States Database in conducting a compliance audit.

Document Databases
The Steering Committee has created three distinct document databases to assist them in the reaccreditation process. The first is a public database providing the documentation to satify the standards set forth by the Middle States Association, Commission on Higher Education, not being explored under the focused self study topic of The Student Experience. It is encouraged to utilized the database in conjunction with the Document Roadmap.
