MWBE Important Information
It is the University's policy to take affirmative action to ensure that New York State certified minority and women - owned business enterprises (M/WBEs) are given the opportunity to provide the University with commodities and services at competitive prices .
NYS, the Governor's Office and the SUNY Board of Trustees expects 20% of all purchases to be made with certified NYS Minority and Women owned businesses (MWBE's), 10% MBE, 10% WBE
All personnel purchasing for their departments are to search the Department of Economic Development's MWBE directory and encouraged to make their procurement with a certified NYS MWBE. Please review attached links listed below relating to M/WBE program procedures and directory searches. Please find attached listing of MWBE products and services for commonly used items.
Good Faith Effort
NYS Executive Law Article 15-A and University policy require campuses, and the vendors and contractors (vendors) with whom they do business, to make a good faith effort to procure materials, supplies, equipment and services (including printing) from NYS certified minority or women-owned businesses(M/WBEs) and meet University established goals for M/WBE participation in contracts
