Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I believe that encouraging diversity in the learning experience is a key component that contributes significantly to the quality of life on campus and inspires us to even greater accomplishments. Therefore, I invite you to take part in this year’s Presidential Mini-Grants for Departmental Diversity Initiative by reading the guidelines and participating in the application process.
The purpose of the Presidential Mini-Grants for Departmental Diversity Initiative is to.help bring to fruition the ideas which enable the University to adapt to the changing needs of our community. The Mini-Grants are designed to foster projects which are the seeds of growth for the University, by helping us improve our research and ability to work together with greater understanding. Preference will be given to proposals that promote awareness, skills, and knowledge about issues related to race, gender, ethnicity, abilities, age and/or religion.
Drawing on a total pool of $30,000, the award amount granted will be determined by the number of grants selected and approved for funding. Each Mini-Grant recipient will be recognized at the Annual Awards Dinner and receive a certificate.
Application deadline is Friday, February 22, 2013.
Thank you for taking the time to give this important initiative serious consideration.
