To the Stony Brook University Community

1/28/14

Stony Brook University has a longstanding commitment to equal employment and educational opportunity, and environments that foster respect, dignity, fairness, and equity. Stony Brook University is committed to creating and maintaining workplace, educational, and recreational environments that are safe and accessible, and free of all forms of discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and sexual harassment, including non-consensual sexual contact, sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking.

Please find attached, two policy notices regarding Stony Brook University policies on Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, anti-discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual violence, stalking, and domestic violence. I recommend that all members of the community familiarize themselves with these policies. I especially request that all supervisors review these policies with their employees. All violations of these policies should be reported to the Office of Diversity and Affirmative Action and/or the Title IX Coordinator, Raul M. Sanchez, Senior Director for Title IX and Risk Management. Contact information can be found in the attached notices. Also attached is a copy of a poster with comprehensive contact information for reporting incidents of discrimination and sexual violence. All questions about these notices should be directed to Raul M. Sanchez.
