Presidential Awards & Mini-Grants

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I believe that encouraging diversity in the learning experience is a key component that contributes significantly to the quality of life on campus and inspires us to even greater accomplishments. Therefore, I invite you to take part in this year's Presidential Mini-Grant Program by reading the enclosed material and participating in the application process.

The Presidential Mini-Grants for Departmental Diversity Initiatives help bring to fruition the ideas that enable the University to adapt to the changing needs of our community. They are designed to foster the projects that are the seeds of growth for the University, and that will help us improve our research and work together with greater understanding. Each Mini-Grant recipient is given a certificate at the Annual Awards Dinner in the Fall and each Mini-Grant can attain a maximum of $10,000, drawing upon a total pool of $30,000.

Please note that the President's Awards for Teaching as Part-Time Faculty and for Excellence in Diversity and Affirmative Action have been suspended for academic year 2010-2011 due to the severity of our current budget constraints.

The Mini-Grant application deadline is February 22, 2011; please click on the link below for further information, and be sure to submit your application by the deadline date. Thank you for taking the time to give this serious consideration.
