The official Seal of the State University of New York at Stony Brook will be used only on specific documents as stipulated by the President or the Registrar. The Seal affirms the legitimacy of such documents, lending them the authority and reputation of the University.
- The Office of the Registrar will affix the Seal only to official transcripts, certificates, and other authorized documents.
- The President or Assistant Vice President for Communications (President’s designee) may authorize the use of the Seal upon other documents as appropriate.
