Computing Lab

The School of Professional Development and the Professional Education Program at Stony Brook University operate a joint SPD/PEP Computer Lab. Located on the first floor of the Behavioral Sciences building (Room N-123), the lab serves as a testing, evaluation and instructional facility for P-12 educators.

One of the labs primary purposes is to collect a software library for P-12 education and compile a database of the library, much like an online card catalog for a traditional library.

SPD/PEP Instructors and Students are encouraged to visit the facility of 17 Pentium 4 workstations to peruse and evaluate the software for use in their schools.

2 IMAC Computers

Server:

Dell PowerEdge 2300 450 Pentium 2, 256MB RAM, 9.1GB LVD SCSI Hard Drive with NT Windows 2000 Operating System.
1 - Hewlett-Packard Network Printer
1 - Hewlett-Packard ScanJet Scanner
1 - Dukane 8800 presentation projection unit (ceiling mounted with remote)

Future plans: 27" VCR/TV Unit
