Salary: Commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications: New York State Certification or its equivalent in English (grades 7-12). Master's degree in English, Education, or a related field. At least three years full time experience as a school administrator in English Language Arts and/or Reading, and at least five years full time experience in pre-service and in-service teacher education.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of and experience in NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) and NCTE (National Council of Teachers in English) accreditations process and assessment design; significant experience teaching Reading, and supervising Reading instruction.

Responsibilities & Requirements: Teach pedagogy courses, place and supervise English teacher candidates in the schools and participate in significant advisement responsibilities as well as related educational activities in the English Department and the Professional Education Program, including full involvement in the NCTE/NCATE accreditation process.

Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. Anticipated start date: January 1, 2010. The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications: Higher education experience in teach education and administrative experience.

Responsibilities & Requirements: The Science Education Program seeks a teacher educator to teach methods courses, supervise teacher candidates in the public schools, conduct a weekly seminar and participate in the related educational activities of the Program.

          o Teach six courses annually (methods courses, student teaching seminar, etc.)
          o Coordinate, supervise, and place teacher candidates in the public schools.
          o Interview, advise and assess students.
          o Review student files for eligibility for student teaching placement.
          o Engage in professional development activities.
          o Participate in grant and educational outreach activities.
          o Prepare documentation for accreditation renewals.

Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. Anticipated start date: January 1, 2010.
