Open Class Lists
The open class lists are below. Please click on "Alphabetical Open Class List" and "DEC Open Class List" to review the updated copies as of
May 16, 2011. Please be advised that the class offerings are subject to change, and some classes with only a few open seats may be closed by the time you attend orientation.
You can search for classes using the two Open Class Lists below. Use the Fall 2011 Program Planning Worksheet to write down the class in the correct university time periods. The Open Class Lists are arranged by:

Alphabetical Open Class List
- Courses arranged in alphabetical order by department. Begin to select courses listed under your intended major.

DEC Open Class List
- Courses arranged by DEC and Skill categories,
the general education curriculum courses. If you are transferring less than 50 credits,
you likely have satisfied some the DEC requirements.
In preparation for orientation, identify a few DEC B, C, D, E, F & G classes that interest you.
You can also look at DEC H, I, J and K classes, though
these are typically upper-division classes (300 level or higher)
that you take later in your junior and senior years.
If you are transferring more than 50 credits you have satisfied several of the DEC requirements.

DEC by Meeting Pattern Open Class List
- Program Planning Worksheet - Use this worksheet to write down the classes in the correct class time periods.
Reading the Open Class Lists:
- Class Nbr: five-digit registration number.
- Subject/Catalog: Department designator and course number.
- DEC: General Education curriculum course.
- Course Description: Course title.
- Sect: is noted as: 01, 02, or L01, L05, or R01, R03, or S02, or S03- refers to the different days and times that the same course is offered.
- Lab course is noted as: L01, L02, etc.
- Lecture course is noted as: 01, 02, 03, etc.
- Recitation course is noted as: R01, R03, R04, etc.
- Seminar is noted as: S01, S02, etc. Seminar courses meet one day a week.
- Meeting Pattern 1, 2 and 3: lists the days and times for the Recitation and Lab that is associated with the Lecture.
- Restriction: This course has a pre-requisite.
- Reserved: This course has seats reserved for majors.
Note: Remember to write down the days and times listed across the
entire row under Meeting Pattern 1, 2 and 3 on the Program Planning Worksheet. Any adjustments to the class schedule will be addressed when you meet with your advisor.
