Summer Research Scholars Program

June 2- August 8, 2008

This program provides support for high-achieving non-Stony Brook University juniors and seniors to engage in biological sciences research at Stony Brook.

Eligibility

Applicants must:	plan to be enrolled as a junior or senior in the Fall of 2008 (not open to Stony Brook students)
	plan to pursue a Ph.D. in a biological sciences discipline
	have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.3

Awards
Awardees will receive a $3000 stipend, room and board, $500 toward travel expenses plus $500 for supplies for the laboratory in which they do their research.

Applications
Applications include a one page essay of the student's career goals, two letters of recommendation from faculty, and all transcripts. The deadline for applications is February 15 . A committee consisting of faculty members in the biological sciences will select the students within one week of the deadline.
