Special Collections and University Archives at Stony Brook University Libraries has been a vital repository of research collections for the campus community, visiting scholars, and the general public for forty years. The materials that the department provides access to offer abundant opportunities for discovery and scholarship and include: 25,000 monographs and serials; 500 collections; 1,000 maps and atlases; and the University Archives.
The University
Archives includes documents and items of permanent historic value that have been
produced by the administration, faculty, staff, and students of Stony Brook University.
Special Collections and University Archives is dedicated to providing access to and preserving primary source material and digitized content that supports the mission of the university and documents Long Island history.
We invite the university community and the public to explore our unique collections.
