Biographical Sketch 

C. David Heymann (b. January 14, 1944, d. May 9, 2012) authored the best-selling biographies R.F.K: A Candid Biography of Robert F. Kennedy (1998); Poor Little Rich Girl: The Life and Legend of Barbara Hutton (1983); A Woman Named Jackie: An Intimate Biography of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis (1989); Liz: An Intimate Biography of Elizabeth Taylor (1995); The Georgetown Ladies’ Social Club: Power, Passion, and Politics in the Nation’s Capital (2003); American Legacy: The Story of John & Caroline Kennedy (2007); and Bobby and Jackie:
A Love Story
(2009).

He also wrote Ezra Pound, the Last Rower: A Political Profile (1976) and American Aristocracy: The Lives and Times of James Russell, Amy, and Robert Lowell (1980).

Extent, Scope, and Content Note

The collection is comprised of 70 cubic feet of research material created by and amassed by Mr. Heymann for the purpose of writing R.F.K: A Candid Biography of Robert F. Kennedy (1998). Contents include manuscript drafts, correspondence, newspaper clippings, subject files, and interviews.

Arrangement and Processing Note

The original order and folder headings have been retained and preserved. Items housed in acidic or metal housings have been removed from these housings for preservation reasons. These materials have been re-housed in archival folders and boxes. The collection was inventoried in 1997 by Special Collections.
