Introduction

In November 2007, Ellen and Thomas Williams donated to Special Collections a collection of land deeds and documents pertaining to the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Many of the items focus on the area known as Brookhaven Hamlet. The dates of the documents span from 1780 to 1929 and include the surnames Helme, Rose, Hawkins, Myhr, and Mott.

Access and Copyright

The entire collection is open and accessible to researchers with the exception of two extremely brittle items. A facsimile copy of each document has been created to assist researchers. Please contact Special Collections for all inquiries regarding this collection. Stony Brook University retains copyright to this collection.
