PREFACE

The University Archives includes material created by the University that is of enduring legal, fiscal, administrative and historical value.
It is also the official repository for master theses and doctoral dissertations in print format (through May 2007) and the Stony Brook Authors and Editors Collection.

The University Archives include: more than 10,000 photographs, artifacts, and memorabilia dating from 1957; complete holdings of the annual yearbook Specula and campus newspapers; audio and video recordings of campus lectures and programs; papers of distinguished faculty; and archival copies of paper-based theses and dissertations (through May 2007).
