History
The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, as known as Academic Affairs, was established in 1965. In 1981, the office was renamed the Office of the Provost by President Marburger upon the recommendations of a study commission. In 1986, when Jerry R. Schubel was appointed, it was renamed Office of the Provost and Academic Vice President.
