News Literacy Institute for High School Teachers
at Stony Brook University

A complete application must include:

  • A comprehensive CV with a list of subjects taught over the last three years.
  • A letter from a superintendent of schools or principal stating the interest of your school district to develop a course in News Literacy involving that educator.
  • A 400-word statement explaining why you are interested in teaching News Literacy. Cite data or anecdote(s) you believe illustrate the need for new civic skills in the Digital Age. Describe the contributions you can make as a participant in the Summer Institute?
