What type of file should I use when uploading my resume?

When uploading a resume, Word (.doc) or PDF (.pdf) formats present well to the hiring teams. Scanned resumes and other formats are not readable by our systems.

Why isn't information from the resume that I uploaded going into the correct application fields, such as work experience, qualifications, and education?

Resumes must be in a text format (i.e. Microsoft Word or PDF files) rather than an object format (i.e. scanned document) for proper parsing of the information.

How to Apply: Current Employees

Note: FSA or Student Employees are not considered "Current Employees" and should apply using the prospective candidate application procedures.

To search for internal and external jobs and transfer opportunities current employees must sign in to the Internal Career Site. Use your NetID and password to sign in. This is important because when you apply your job submission will be “flagged” to show that you are an internal employee.

Watch a tutorial on finding your NetID in SOLAR

Step 1: Update Your Profile

It is not necessary for current employees to create a new user account. Some information in your Candidate Profile exists from SOLAR. It’s important that you maintain this information. It will make it easier when you are ready to apply. You can even choose to be notified about job postings that match your profile.
