You have two ways to store and back up your files as a registered Stony Brook student. The University grants you a combined 600MB of network file storage to save files and host Web sites. You need your NetID and NetID password to use both file-storage options.
MySBfiles is a network storage option for all students, faculty, and staff. Up to 500 MB of data can be stored in your personal MySBfiles which is backed up regularly on an automated basis by University servers. You can access your MySBfiles from on or off campus via an Internet browser.
SharePoint provides document sharing, group collaboration, social networking, and Web site authoring. All of this takes place on the Web. All faculty, staff and students receive up to 100 MB of storage in their SharePoint My Site. Additional space can be requested depending what your needs are.
