Q. Is summer housing available for HSC students?
A. Yes. Students requiring summer housing must complete a summer housing application, which can be found on the Campus Residences Web site, www.studentaffairs.stonybrook.edu/summerhousing in addition to submitting a request for academic year housing.
Q. What if I’m applying for spring semester housing?
A. There is no official application deadline for the spring semester as spaces are assigned based on availability. If you are applying for spring semester housing, it is best to get your application in as soon as possible.
Q. Am I guaranteed to get the specific housing accommodation I request (i.e., a single room or accommodations in the West Apartments)?
A. No, Transfer students / HSC Crossovers are not guaranteed housing. Housing accommodations will be provided based on availability and the date your application was received. There are only 125 spaces allocated in the West Apartments for HSC students. These
spaces will be assigned based on the date of application. If all 125 spaces have been allocated, students will then be assigned to the Residence Halls. New students are often placed into double
spaces, not singles. If you are interested in a single room, you may place your name on the single room waitlist located on our Web site.
