In order to request aid for the summer, Stony Brook must have received your FAFSA
(school code 002838) and you must be enrolled for at least six credits as a matriculated student. Pell eligible students can receive summer aid if they are enrolled for at least 3 credits. We will start the review of summer applications in May.

Payment Policy and Procedure
Summer session students are required to pay for their summer classes by the first day of classes. You may pay by using the SOLAR System (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express), in person at the Student Accounts Office (cash, check, or credit card), or by mail.
In order to have a deferment applied to your account based on your summer aid, you must have followed the application process and accepted aid offered before the end of the summer term. If full payment for all charges is made, you will be reimbursed when your financial aid funds have been received and credited to your student account.
Time Option Payment Plan (TOPP) is only available for fall and spring.
Accelerated Study TAP
You may apply for Accelerated Study TAP if enrolled at least half-time (6 credits) during Summer Sessions I and/or II. You must have earned 24 credits total from Stony Brook in prior two terms towards your degree in order to be eligible for an Accelerated Study Payment.
If you file your FAFSA electronically you will be able to link to your on-line TAP application at the end of the FAFSA session. If you missed the NYS link, or you filed a paper FAFSA, go to New York State Higher Education Services to complete the application process.
