28 Monday Classes begin in the School of Health Technology and Management for new students in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant and Respiratory Care.
28 Monday Summer Term II Session Code 9 (06/28 - 08/06) and Session Code M (06/28 - 08/20) begin.
July
1 Thursday Classes begin for 3rd and 4th year students in the School of Medicine.

TUITION & FEE LIABILITY RESULTING FROM STUDENT WITHDRAWALS & CANCELLATIONS

Students who officially withdraw from the University or reduce the number of credits for which they are registered may be entitled to a proportionate refund of tuition paid or proportionate adjustment of tuition charges. The first day of classes as scheduled by the campus shall be deemed to be the first day that classes are offered, as scheduled by the academic calendar.

Fall 2010 Calendar

AUGUST
23 Monday Classes begin in the School of Medicine for 2nd year students. Classes begin in Dental Medicine for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students; and 1st year students attend orientation.
30 Monday Classes begin in the Basic Sciences, Graduate Program in Public Health, the Schools of Nursing; Social Welfare; Health Technology and Management; 1st year students in the School of Medicine; 1st year students in the School of Dental Medicine; and West Campus. ($40 late registration fee assessed to all students who are not enrolled in at least one course before August 30th).
SEPTEMBER
5 Sunday Last day for all students to drop a course or withdraw from the university without tuition liability.
6 Monday Labor Day (Classes Not in session).
15 Wednesday For all students, last day to drop a course without a "W" being recorded. Last day for undergraduates to add a course and process a swap.
15 Wednesday For Undergraduates, last day to file for Fall (December) and Winter (January) graduation. Candidates must apply on-line via the Solar System. Click on the "Apply for Graduation" link on the Solar System homepage. Only Seniors (U4) who have completed (posted to their records) at least 108 credits (or greater) with a declared major will be eligible to apply.
8 Wednesday Rosh Hashanah - Observed (Classes Not in session after 5 P.M.)
9-10 Thursday-Friday Rosh Hashanah - Observed (Classes Not in session)
22 Wednesday

Last day for graduate students to add or withdraw from a course. All registration transactions must be handled through your HSC school.
24 Friday For Graduate, Medicine and Dental Medicine students. The last day to file for Fall (December) and Winter (January) graduation. Candidates should apply on-line via the SOLAR System. Click on Student Records & Registration click on Apply for Graduation. Follow the instructions, if you have any questions please see your HSC representative.
17 Friday Yom Kippur - Observed (Classes Not in session after 5 p.m.)
18 Saturday Yom Kippur - Observed (Classes Not in session).
OCTOBER
29 Friday

Last day for undergraduates to drop a course (W will be recorded). (Withdrawal from all classes must be processed by the student's HSC school.)
NOVEMBER
1 Monday Last day for removal of Incomplete (I) grades from 2010 Spring and Summer term codes.
8 Monday

Tentative date for Winter and Spring 2011 registration for graduate and undergraduate students (not including non-matrics). Check the Solar System for your enrollment appointment.
25-28 Thursday-Sunday Thanksgiving recess (Classes Not in session). Classes resume Monday, Nov. 29, 2010.
DECEMBER
10 Friday

Undergraduate and Graduate students, last day to withdraw or take a leave of absence from the university. Withdrawing or a leave of absence from the University must be processed by the student's HSC school.
17 Friday School of Medicine and School of Nursing: Winter recess begins at 12:00pm. Graduate Program in Public Health: Winter recess begins at 2:00 PM; School of Dental Medicine: Winter recess begins at 5:00pm. Programs in the Basic Sciences and School of Health Technology and Management: Winter recess begins at the close of classes.
18 Saturday School of Social Welfare: Winter recess begins at the close of classes.
20 Monday Fall Term ends.
22 Wednesday University Commencement

17 Monday

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (classes not in session).

31 Monday Classes begin in the Graduate Program in Public Health; Schools of Nursing; Social Welfare; Health Technology and Management and west campus. ($40 late registration fee assessed to all students who are not enrolled in at least one course before January 31, 2011.
FEBRUARY
5 Saturday First Day of Saturday Classes. This includes East (HSC), West and Manhattan campuses and SPD online.
06 Sunday Last day for undergraduate and graduate students to drop a course or withdraw from the University without incurring tuition liability. Withdrawing from the University must be processed through your HSC program.
07 Monday Dental Medicine spring classes, late registration, and add/drop begins ($40 late registration fee assessed).
11 Friday

Last day for undergraduate students to add a course; last day for graduate and undergraduates to drop a course without a withdrawal (W) being recorded. Last day for students to process a Swap.
18 Friday Last day for graduate students to add or withdraw from a course (W will be recorded). Tuition liability will apply.
18 Friday Graduate students only: Last day May/June (Spring) or July/August (Summer) 2011 degree and certificate candidates to file degree application in order to be included in the University Commencement publication. Candidates for graduation must apply on-line via SOLAR: Click on Student Records and Registration, Degree Progress/Graduation, Apply for Graduation.
MARCH

30 Wednesday

Undergraduate students only: Last day for Spring (May) or Summer (August) degree candidates to apply for graduation. Undergraduates must apply on-line via Solar (Click on the "Apply for Graduation" Link on your homepage.) Only Seniors (U4) who have completed (posted to their records) at least 108 credits (or greater) with a declared major will be eligible to apply.
APRIL
11 Monday Tentative date for Summer and Fall 2011 registration for graduate and undergraduate students (not including non-matrics). Check the Solar System for your enrollment appointment. Your enrollment appointment for summer may be different from your fall enrollment appointment.
