The Health Sciences Center Office of Student Services is the administrative unit responsible for student services. Areas of responsibility include admissions, recruitment, academic advising, student records, student registration, financial aid and general student services including student government and activities. The level of services the office provides varies by the different academic programs within the Health Sciences Schools, which have an enrollment of over 3,000 students.
The Health Sciences Center (HSC) consists of four professional schools: Dental Medicine, Nursing, Social Welfare, and Health Technology and Management.
The Stony Brook University Medical Center consists of the School of Medicine and Stony Brook University Hospital. The Ph.D. programs in Basic Sciences and the Graduate Program in Public Health/MPH are part of the School of Medicine.
