Research Foundation Benefits
The Benefits section assists faculty, staff, and graduate students in understanding their benefit programs. We work closely with the Department of Civil Service, Division of Employee Benefits, SUNY and Research Foundation Central Offices, and the various carriers to ensure that the programs work smoothly and employees receive their maximum entitlement.
The Benefits section arranges seminars and conducts workshops and outreach programs. Benefit's staff advise supervisors and department heads, counsel employees and provide them with information about benefits programs offered by Stony Brook through the State, Research Foundation, and GSEU. These initiatives include health insurance, life insurance, state supported tuition assistance programs, retirement, tax-deferred programs, long-term disability plans; and short-term disability, workers compensation, and the Family and Medical Leave Act for Research Foundation.
