The CGLH Timeline uses the following symbols:
Ka =
  Kilo annum  (thousand years ago)
Ma =
  Mega annum  (million years ago)
Ga =
  Giga annum  (billion years ago)
The correct plural of Latin annus (year) would be anni but we use "annums" instead for "years."
