Satisfactory Academic Progress (FedSAP)

Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for Graduate Students

In order to be eligible to receive federal financial aid students must meet Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress (FedSAP) guidelines which are designed to insure that students are making satisfactory progress toward degree completion.

FedSAP is measured once per year to determine eligibility. Students are required to complete their program within the maximum time frame as defined by their graduate school. Students should visit their graduate school or the school’s website to familiarize themselves with these maximum time frame requirements.

An appeal process is available for those who have been notified that they are no longer eligible for federal financial aid.  The appeal form can be downloaded from our forms page.
