Federal Pell Grant Semester Award Look-Up Chart


Students who are eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant may use the table below to view the amount of Pell that will be awarded per semester (summer/fall/spring) based on a student's Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from the FAFSA (using your 2012-2013 FAFSA) and semester credit load.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING PELL FOR SUMMER 2012: If you are enrolled for summer 2012 and received a summer Federal Pell Grant, this will reduce your spring award amount if you plan on attending spring full time. As a result, please plan accordingly. Students who attend summer/fall/spring will receive up to the maximum annual Pell award allowable for the year.

Example:

Student A has eligibility for an annual Pell award of $5,550.

Student A enrolls for 6 credits (half time) in the summer receiving a Summer Pell award of $1,388.

Student A enrolls for 15 credits (full time) in the fall receiving a Fall Pell award of $2,775.

Student A enrolls for 15 credits (full time) in the spring and is eligible to receive $1,387, as this is the remainder left based on their annual Pell eligibility of $5,550.

Based on revised regulations effective immediately, students are eligible to receive a maximum number of twelve full-time semesters of Federal Pell Grant funding.
