Completing Your Electronic Master Promissory Note (e-MPN) at HESC
When should the Electronic Master Promissory Note (e-MPN) be completed?
- Students who have accepted an offered Stafford and/or Graduate PLUS loan will be instructed to complete their e-MPN soon after the University has transmitted their loan acceptance to HESC (the guaranty agency). A SOLAR To Do List Item will direct them to this page to begin the e-MPN process (see below). This will only be necessary if HESC does not already have a valid MPN on file.
- Parents borrowing from the PLUS loan program must begin the PLUS loan request process by completing the credit check and PLUS e-MPN process at the HESC web site. Upon completion, the University will receive the information, determine the award amount (not to exceed the amount requested) and will add the award to the student's financial aid award package. This process must be repeated each time the parent wishes to take an additional PLUS loan.
- If you wish to have your loan processed from a different guaranty agency other than HESC please contact your Financial Aid Office for further instructions.
