Dr. McAdoo Scholarship
  • Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Students must actively advocate for social justice issues.
  • Students must display their interest and commitment by participating, organizing and coordinating a variety of extracurricular and community outreach or organizing activities.
  • Students must demonstrate leadership qualities.
  • Students must make contributions to diversity related programs on the Stony Brook University campus or in their communities.
  • Students must demonstrate financial need.

LSAMP- Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation
  • SUNY LSAMP is funded to increase the number of underrepresented minorities (African-American, Latino, Native American, Alaskan Native, and Native Pacific Islander) who pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
  • Must be either a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
  • The LSAMP program is especially interested in high-achieving students who intend to pursue post-baccalaureate studies in science or mathematics and or bachelor degrees in engineering.

LSAMP-OEDG- Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation- Opportunities for Enhancing Diversity in Geosciences

  • LSAMP-OEDG is funded to increase the number of underrepresented minorities (African-American, Latino, Native American, Alaskan Native, and Pacific Islander) who pursue academic and/or professional careers in the Geosciences (Earth Sciences, Geology, marine Science, and Meteorology).
  • Must be either a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • The LSAMP-OEDG program is especially interested in high-achieving students who intend to pursue post-baccalaureate studies in Geoscience.

Marylou Stewart Pride Scholarship
  • To provide annual tuition support to one or more students.
  • Preference given to those who can demonstrate that she/he identifies with the goals of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Faculty Staff Network.
  • One year undergraduate award.

Ralph Watkins Memorial Scholarship
  • To provide support to qualified under-represented students who are admissible under regular criteria , but due to financial constraints may be unable to complete their education.
  • Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  • Students must be full time.
  • One year undergraduate award.

Shi Ming Hu Memorial Scholarships

  • Shi Ming Hu Leadership Award
  • Shi Ming Hu Freshman Scholarship
  • Shi Ming Hu/Eli Seifman Chinese Studies Scholarship

 

  • Leadership Award - To provide support to a graduating senior who has played a significant leadership role in an Asian interest club or organization on campus.
  • Freshman Scholarship - To provide support to an academically high-achieving freshman who demonstrates financial need.
  • Chinese Studies Scholarship - To provide support to an upper division student attending SBU who has displayed excellence in the study of Chinese language or culture.
