Entrance/Exit Counseling Requirements

Who?

All students who take a Direct Subsidized or Unsubdized loan (if previously not completed).

Students who have accepted Federal Student Aid

What?

You will learn the following:

  • What a direct loan is
  • How to manage education expenses
  • Your rights and responsibilties as a borrower

You will learn the following:

  • Useful tips on managing your loan
  • Learning about various repayment options
  • Further understanding of rights as a borrower

When?

Before your school can make the first loan disbursement

Before you withdraw or graduate, or after you drop below half-time attendance (even if you plan to transfer to another school).

How?

The office of Financial Aid will notify you about entrance counseling via a to-do list item on SOLAR. You will also receive an email communication. The counseling may be completed online via Studentloans.gov

The office of Financial Aid will notify you about exit counseling via a to-do list item on SOLAR. You will also receive an email communication. The counseling may be completed online via Studentloans.gov
