- Simons Center for Geometry and Physics
- The official groundbreaking for the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics was held on Tuesday, May 26. The Center was started in 2007 with a gift from the James and Marilyn Simons Foundation, which includes a new building for the Center, scheduled to be completed in September 2010. The building will be contiguous to and have direct connections to the Physics Building and Mathematics Tower. The center will be a six story 40,000 square feet building including a 236 seat auditorium, 90 seat lecture hall and seminar rooms. The Simons Foundation gift also provides an endowment to support the continuing operations of the Center.
