Main Campus Completed Projects

Marburger / Circle Roundabout

In May of 2006, to increase safety and help manage vehicle traffic on campus, construction began to install a roundabout at the intersection of Marburger Drive and Circle Road. This project was completed September 2006. A roundabout is a circular intersection designed to allow vehicles to enter and exit from each approach without having to stop. It also eliminates many of the traditional traffic movements, such as left turns, that are a primary contributor to accidents at conventional intersections.
The roundabout is part of a capital project to repair and/or relocate campus roadways. There is also a new sign "package", as pictured in this diagram, installed here indicating for drivers a change in the traffic pattern and the entrance and exit points specific to where they are going as they approach the roundabout.
