The Department of European Languages, Literatures, and Cultures of Stony Brook
University invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant
Professor level beginning Fall 2013. The candidate should have primary expertise
in Italian, Italian-American, and European studies. Preferred areas of research
include modern and contemporary Italian and Italian-American cultures, migration
and transnational studies, literature and ideology. Experience in study abroad
programs would be useful. Proficiency in another modern European language or
Latin is encouraged. Ph.D. should be in hand. The successful candidate will join
a newly planned doctoral program in European Studies.
