MBA for CEO == Finance and marketing
MSTSM for COO == nuts and bolts. Detail management program for middle and upper managers

4. What are the special features for Stony Brook MSTSM in oversea?
a. Same application for applying Stony Brook University MSTSM in Shenzhen program as those people applying for Stony Brook Main campus
b. Same admission committee to review the application with same standard
c. GPA = 3.0 ;TOEFL = 550 or TOEIC = 750;GRE
d. All the professors are all from US and main Campus
e. All the classes must be taught in English
f. All classes in MSTSM Shenzhen are using same text book as the main campus

5. What are the differences between the program offered by Stony Brook and others?
a. All the professors are all from US and main Campus
b. Students do not have to be in US and receive Graduate directly from US
c. Two weeks in Stony Brook in the last Summer

6. Who are the professionals to take this MSTSM?

Do not have to be a technical staff as long as they may have potential to work for technical companies

7. What are the qualifications should each applicant have?
a. GPA is better that 3.00
b. TOEFL score is better than 550 or TOEIC is better than 750
c. 3 reference letters
d. GRE or GMAT
e. BS or BA degree

8. What are the differences between Matriculated and Non-Matriculated status for the applicant?
a. Matriculated students do have all the background listed in (6)
b. Non-Matriculated Students only need GPA is better than 3.00 in the first semester for taking one course but NM students must take TOEFL and obtain the score is better than 550


9. Can the student apply for this program if the applicant has a lot of working experience but does not have Bachelor degree?
The applicants must have BS or BA. With 3 or 2 years college diploma is not qualified.

10. Can the student apply for this program if the applicant has a lot of working experience but has not taken TOEFL?
Yes if the applicant has GPA better than 3.00 can be accepted as Non-matriculated graduate student but he or she is allowed to another course until the TOEFL score is better than 550.

11. What is the entire admission process for applying MSTSM program?
a. Submission step:
i. Fill up the application form
ii. Official Transcripts
iii. TOEFL score report
iv. GRE
v. Three references letters
b. Approval Step:
i. After receiving the completed application package
ii. The admission committee will review the package and vote for the decision
iii. Once decision is positive and Department will forward the decision to the Department chair
iv. Department will prepare the acceptance or rejection letter and the return form for student to fill out their acceptance letter for planning to join the program for next semester.


12. How many courses in MSTSM in oversea?
a. There are Ten courses in MSTM
b. Two are core courses 581 and 582
c. 5 out of 6 required courses
d. 3 electives



13. How does Stony Brook run for oversea students?
a. All the courses are Hybrid online teaching ( Stony Brook University has more than 5 years teaching experience in online teaching)
b. Professor will be in Shenzhen for two days in the first week of each term.
c. Using HorizonLive to broadcast Professor’s lecture Video, audio and PowerPoint to your home PC in real time. You also can ask question using on-line chatting feature in real time.
d. Blackboard to conduct discussion.
e. All the courses in the second year will be finished in two weeks in Stony Brook.

14. Will the student get different diploma from Stony Brook from the residential student obtain?
They will all receive same title and same degree as the residential students from Stony Brook.

15. How does the student pay their tuition?
They will not pay their tuition or any school expenses to Stony Brook directly.

16. What type of PC should student have for receiving lecturing from Stony Brook?
The student does have to have super PC or the latest model. As long as their PC can run the Microsoft Windows explorer and office applications.

17. What do students do in the two weeks in Stony Brook in the summer of 2nd year?
This is special trip for all the students in the oversea program. According to NY state university residential requirement, all students must spend minimum days or hours physically in the campus. In addition to taking scheduled class lectures, There are few field trips will be arranged to visit companies to learn more about American Business process. Finally, a graduation ceremony will be taken place on the last day to celebrate their two years hard work.

18. How much do the students have to pay for summer program in Stony Brook besides the airfare?
About 2,500 to 3,000, it depends on the arrangement of Dormitory and Meal plan. Also the special events may affect the final cost. Important, every student in this summer program must use school dormitory and meal plan.

19. Who are the professors to teach this MSTSM for you?
a. All professor are from US
b. They are either professor from Stony Brook or the industrial leaders with rich practical experience.

20. Where do I go to apply for graduation?
You will need to apply for graduation within the first month of the semester in which you will be graduating.
