Dr. Abouelenean's primary research interests include Water Resources Engineering, Hydraulics Engineering, Bridge Hydraulics, Bridge Scour, Numerical Modeling, and Computer Applications.
Dr. Abouelenean worked as a Principal Professional Engineer with Water Professionals Engineering, Inc in Alabama since 2006, and Associate Hydraulics Engineer with Saliba Engineering, Inc since 2004 in Florida. He also worked as a Doctorate Engineer at Suez Canal University and taught graduate- and undergraduate-level classes in Hydraulics and water resources engineering. He was a principal/co-principal investigator in number of researches, analyses, and design of projects in Water Resources/Hydraulics Engineering. He worked as an external academic expert and evaluated 22 higher educational systems’ projects in the framework TEMPUS program that supports the development of higher education systems in the European partner countries.
Dr. Abouelenean is currently a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), a member of the Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institution (COPRI), a member of the Egyptian Society of Civil Engineers (ESCE), a members of the Public Service Center for Development of Engineering Researches and Technological Planning in Port Said (ERCDTP), a member of the Arab Research Institute in Science & Engineering (ARISE), and a member of the Civil Engineering Advisory Board (CEAB) with the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS).
Dr. Abouelenean
has several publications in the field of Water Resources/Hydraulics
and Sediment Scour Engineering and his most recent publication is; 'Effect of Width of Valley on Bridge Hydraulics under Subcritical
Flow Conditions' with FLUCOME
2007, The Ninth International Conference on Fluid Control, Measurement
and Visualization.
