he Department of Technology and Society at Suny Stony Brook is now recognized as a part of the Research Affiliate Community and the Implementation Network of the Center for the Advancement of Scholarship on Engineering Education (CASEE) of the National Academy of Engineering.
This recognition is a result of prior efforts and the potential for being a model for other institutions on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education research and implementation. Such recognition will bring significant visibility to the department's activities.
As a result of this recognition, the department should expect significant and substantive inquiries regarding the nature of specific components of our activities (undergraduate, graduate, outreach programs, etc.).
