Regulated Medical Waste
Regulated medical waste includes both sharps and red bag waste.
New York State defines regulated medical waste as waste which is generated in the diagnosis, treatment or immunization of human beings or animals, in research pertaining thereto, or in production and testing of biologicals. It includes the following:
- Cultures and Stocks
- Human and Pathological
- Human Blood and Blood Products
- Sharps
- Animal Waste
