The Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Solid & Hazardous Materials, regulates the application of pesticides in New York State. Stony Brook's pesticide management program was developed to ensure compliance with the State's pesticide laws, Article 33 and parts of Article 15 of the Environmental Conservation Law, and regulations, Title 6 of the Official Compilation of Codes, Rules and Regulations of the State of New York Parts 320-329, and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (1972).
