Welcome to the Summer Camps at Stony Brook University, where your child can have an unforgettable experience at our themed academies: For children who are about to enter Kindergarten in the Fall of 2013, up to and including those children going into the 6th grade. We offer three, four, or five-day options and campers can enroll in as little as two weeks or up to eight weeks of camp. Our camp runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Each day the child will receive a balanced schedule of creative and athletic activities. Before and After Care are available for an additional cost. Lunch, snack, and one camp shirt are included in the price.
The Graduate Program for 7th & 8th Graders
The Graduate Program is a step-up program for our graduate campers, those who are entering 7th or 8th grade. Campers in this program will have the opportunity to attend a wide variety of different camp program opportunities running within the particular weeks that they attend. They will be able to pick from athletic or education activities and enjoy a sample some of the academies. In addition, campers in this program will get exclusive opportunities, such as playing soccer in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium or attending special events on campus. Campers in the Graduate Program will meet weekly with members of our Leadership Team to design a schedule of events they will participate in at camp.
Counselors-in-Training Program for 9th & 10th Graders
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program has been designed to meet the needs of campers entering 9th or 0th grade. CITs will spend a portion of their day interacting with our younger campers. The remainder of the day will be spent participating in camp activities as a group, where they will have time to socialize and interact with their peers. They will also attend weekly training meetings with one of our leadership staff members. Ninth graders will rotate to various age groups throughout the summer. Tenth graders will be assigned to one group for their entire time at camp.
