石溪大学孔子学院大事记 Big Events of CISBU

 

1. 2008年11月5日，石溪大学与国家汉办就开办孔子学院事宜达成协议，中南财经政法大学将作为中国合作方共同建设孔子学院。

November 5th, 2008, Hanban and Stony Brook University sign the agreement to establish the Confucius Institute at Stony Brook University (CISBU) with Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) as Stony Brook’s partner university in China.

 

2. 2008年11月17日，中国驻纽约总领事馆教育参赞岑建君会见了到访的中南财经政法大学副校长韩呼生，就该校与纽约州立石溪大学合作共建“孔子学院”交换了意见。

November 17th, 2008, Counselor Cen Jianjun, Education Section Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York, meets with Vice-president Han Husheng of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law to discuss their cooperative partnership with Stony Brook University and the Confucius Institute.


随着美国汉语教学的快速发展以及学校本身和周边社区对学习汉语需求的迅速扩大，石溪大学积极寻求与中国高校合作共建“孔子学院”，进一步满足对中国语言文化的需求。

 3. 2009年04月13日上午，在国家汉办王永利副主任以及中国驻纽约领事馆教育处官员的见证下，中南财经政法大学徐敦楷书记与石溪大学孔子学院艾任斯院长签署了关于合作建设孔子学院的执行协议。当天下午，石溪大学孔子学院正式成立，国务委员刘延东等出席了揭牌仪式。新华社、中新社、中国中央电视台、人民网、凤凰卫视、美国中文网等多家中美主流媒体进行了报道。

April 13th, 2009, Liu Yandong, State Councilor and Chairwoman of the Council of the Confucius Institute Headquarters pays an official visit to the United States and attends the opening ceremony events held by the Confucius Institute at Stony Brook University. After presenting 5,000 volumes of Chinese books and audio-visual materials to the institute, Madame Liu notes that language exchange is an important element of Sino-American cultural exchanges and it also serves as a bridge to enhance understanding and increase communications among people of different countries.

4. 2009年9月10日，应纽约州立大学石溪分校校长Samuel Stanley博士的邀请，驻纽约总领事彭克玉大使作为该校孔子学院首任特邀嘉宾，在石溪大学孔子学院做了题为“中美关系”的演讲。

September 10th, 2009, Peng Keyu, Counselor General of the People's Republic of China in New York, accepts Stony Brook University’s president Dr. Samuel Stanley’s invitation to present the inaugural lecture of the Confucius Institute. Counselor General Peng discusses “Sino-American Relations in the 21st Century.”

彭总对石溪大学成立孔子学院表示祝贺。他详细阐释了孔子核心思想，介绍了“和谐社会”、“合而不同”、“求大同、存小异”等含义深刻的中华文化精髓。重点阐述了中国的和平发展、中美关系、应对国际金融危机等问题。

 

5. 2010年4月7日，驻纽约总领事馆彭克玉总领事在官邸会见并宴请了纽约州立石溪大学校长史丹利（Dr. Samuel L. Stanley）夫妇、孔子学院艾任斯院长夫妇、邓越凡副院长夫妇，驻纽约总领事馆施泳副总领事、岑建君参赞等参加了会见和宴请。

April 7th, 2010, Peng Keyu, Counselor General of the People's Republic of China in New York, hosts President Samuel Stanley and a delegation from the Confucius Institute at Stony Brook University at a dinner and reception marking their new association.

彭总对近年来石溪大学与中国在教育领域的交流与合作给予了充分肯定，特别是刘延东国务委员对石溪大学进行了成功访问并为孔子学院揭幕，开启了双方教育交流的新篇章。

6. 2010年10月5日，中南财经政法大学杨灿明副校长带领外事处副处长徐文健、国际教育学院副院长张志刚、学工部部长阮世喜一行到访石溪大学，与石溪大学校长Samuel Stanley博士和教务长Eric Kaler就如何将孔子学院办得更好以及两校之间的合作交流进行了深入探讨。

    October 5th, 2010, Vice-President Yang Canming of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law meets with Stony Brook University’s President Samuel Stanley and Provost Eric Kaler to discuss the future development of the Confucius Institute.
