Kathleen Wilson got hooked on British history whilst an undergraduate at the University of Reading, England. Since then, her intellectual compass has broadened but her interests in issues of identity and difference have remained remarkably constant. She got her Ph.D. from Yale in 1985, trained on the job in literary criticism while a Lecturer in History and Literature at Harvard, and has taught at Stony Brook since 1990. She lives with her husband and daughter in New York City and Stony Brook, Long Island.

1985 Ph.D. Yale University.

Appointed to Department of History, Stony Brook University, in 1991.
