The Program in Writing and Rhetoric at Stony Brook University is pleased to announced the following talented writers reading from and discussing their current works.  The Poetry Center is on the second floor of the Humanities Building.

 

Sept 18, 1-2: Dennis Doherty Dennis Doherty

Dennis Doherty is author of three volumes of poetry: The Bad ManFugitive, and Crush Test. He is currently writing a book on The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn as part of a series for New Street Communications on "why we should read" great American novels. Poetry Center.

Larry Carr

Laurence Carr's novel Pancake Hollow Primer won first prize at the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards for First Short Novel. He is the co-editor of the recently published anthology, A Slant of Light, Contemporary Women Writers of the Hudson Valley; the editor of Riverine: An Anthology of Hudson Valley Writers; the co-editor of WaterWrites: A Hudson River Anthology; and the author of a book of micro-fiction, The Wytheport Tales.
