Free and Open to the Public
Friday February 27, 2015 – 4 p.m.
Wang Center Lecture Hall 2, Stony Brook University
Playback Theater, a highly experienced and sophisticated improvisational troupe of four actors and a musician, based in New York City, will be back on campus on Friday February 27 to explore the experience of working class and first-generation students at Stony Brook - and faculty/staff experience working with them - through the use of improvisational theater.
This is part of a pilot project designed to identify the difficulties our first-generation and working class students have in their studies and general life at Stony Brook, so we can design methods and programs to improve their experience and progress here. We are developing a grant proposal to fund a year-long, deep investigation of the experience of our working class students.
The project is sponsored by the Vice-President for Student Affairs, Vice-Provost for Undergraduate Studies, Dean of Students, Undergraduate Colleges, AIM/EOP, and the Center for Study of Working Class Life.
