In light of the recent revocation of protections safeguarding the rights of transgender students, the faculty in the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Stony Brook re-affirm our commitment to and support for the Stony Brook Safe Space mission: "to ensure that Stony Brook University becomes a more inclusive place for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQ) people by fostering a supportive learning and working environment."
