International Employees

Visa and Immigration Services (VIS) works with over 4500 international students, scholars, and faculty from more than 100 countries.  As a part of International Academic Programs (IAP), we advise and assist employees in the following statuses with regard to U.S. immigration matters and regulations.  VIS is committed to providing international faculty and scholars with the highest level of expertise in advising and immigration services.  

H-1B Visa Category
H-1B visa category is for international employees being hired with a professional degree in specialty occupations that require the theoretical or practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge. For more information, click here.


E-3 Visa Category
E-3 visas allow employers to temporarily employ an Australian worker in the U.S. on a non-immigrant basis in a specialty occupation. For more information, click here.

O-1 Visa Category
O-1 temporary workers possess extraordinary ability, are among the top 1–2% of individuals who have risen to the very top of their field, and are coming to the United States to continue work in their area of extraordinary ability on a temporary basis.  For more information, click here.

TN NAFTA Professionals
TN status provides work authorization for Canadian and Mexican citizens for professionals in "temporary" positions within the pre-approved fields included in the NAFTA treaty for up to three years at a time. For more information, click here.
